Elephant Mountain is a steep and continuous climb, almost entirely on a well-constructed stone staircase. It leads directly up the side of the mountain from a trailhead. The reward for the steep ascent is a series of viewing platforms that offer breathtaking, postcard-perfect vistas. The most famous of these photo spots is the "Six Boulders," a collection of large rocks that hikers can climb for an unobstructed shot of Taipei 101. As the trail is lit at night, it is a fantastic spot to watch the city lights sparkle.
